Blog 73: Love Our Enemies

Hey everyone! It’s Madison, and I am back with another blog post! Today I will be talking about how we should always “Love our Enemies”! Enjoy!!!

Have you ever been friends with someone, and you ended up falling out? Perhaps we’ve been guilty of holding a grudge against someone. Everyone has done it at least once in their lifetimes; however, did you know that God does not condone such things?

Luke 6:35 (NIV) says “But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.”

This verse explains how we should love our enemies, despite what we may feel about them, because God loves both our strengths and our weaknesses. I’m sure that anyone can attest to the fact that none of us are perfect. Everyone has made mistakes and disobeyed the commandments of God at least once, yet, God’s everlasting love for us never moves to the left or to the right and He is always there for us whenever we need Him.

Another great verse to think about in your relationships is Luke 6:31 (NIV). It says, “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” This verse here literally means what it says. Treat others how you want to be treated. If you would like to be treated with respect and kindness, then treat others the same. People will be more willing to love you as a person if you treat them as you would like to be treated.

Loving our enemies is not an easy task, but it is essential for our spiritual growth. It is a commandment that we must follow as followers of Christ. When we love our enemies, we show them the love of Christ while also demonstrating that we are true children of God. Loving our enemies does not mean that we must agree with everything they say or do. It is not about encouraging their actions or behavior. Instead, it is about showing them kindness, forgiveness, and compassion, just as God has shown us.

Here’s what you should take away from this blog: Treat others as you would like to be treated and love your enemies. Be kind to everyone because Jesus Christ was kind to us. I hope you all enjoyed today’s blog, and I pray that you all took something useful from it! Love you, see you next time!
